“Region and Education. The Myth of Urban–Rural“: Aktionsrat Bildung introduces new annual report

To what extent does the place of residence in Germany also influence the range of educational opportunities on offer, participation in education, and the performance of learners? In its annual report, the experts of Aktionsrat Bildung formulate concrete recommendations to political decision-makers on this issue. Three leading members of the NEPS Network contributed to the compilation of this report.

The new report will be presented at an event of the Bavarian Industry Association (vbw – Vereinigung der Bayerischen Wirtschaft e.V.) in Munich on May 21, 2019, and will be available for download from this date (link to website, German only).

The Aktionsrat Bildung is made up of a group of experts from educational research. Contributors from the NEPS network are:

  • Prof. Dr. Olaf Köller, Managing Scientific Director and Head of the Department of Educational Research and Educational Psychology at the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN) and Chair of the NEPS Network Committee
  • Prof. Dr. Nele McElvany, Managing Director of the Center for Research on Education (IFS) and Scientific Head of NEPS Stage 4
  • Prof. Dr. Hans-Günther Roßbach, former Director of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (2014 to March 2017)
