Against the backdrop of increasing third-party funded research and the growing number of research projects with various funders at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories, a central unit for the consultation and management of third-party funding is indispensable. The objective of the working unit Third-Party Funds is to examine the diverse research programs and to follow and support the research interests within the Institute through counseling and coordination in order to facilitate efficient and target-oriented implementation of essential processes. A prerequisite for this is the regular exchange and networking with funders, universities, and other institutes. Moreover, due to the increasing acquisition of third-party funding, efforts are also growing in terms of project application, support, and management—which requires close administrative follow-up. With the support of the working unit Third-Party Funds, the LIfBi is able to intensify its activities regarding the acquisition third-party funds and, therefore, sharpen its research profile.
In concrete terms, this includes the following thematic focal points:
1. Counseling, communication, and networking
Examination of funding programs and funding lines as well as counseling of staff, regular exchange and contact with other institutes, universities, and funders, etc.
2. Planning and coordination
Formal support in the preparation of applications for third-party funding, organization of the coordination between applicants, project managers, the Board of Directors, and administration, etc.
3. Support during the course of the project
Supporting formal coordination with project partners, communication with funders, etc.
