The key task of the executive unit "NEPS Development" is to support the Director in her function as overall head of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) in the conceptual planning of the medium-term contentrelated orientation and further development in cooperation with the NEPS network.
For these purposes the unit continuously evolves a systematic process and quality management, starting from the identification and establishment of innovative ideas for the NEPS and its network, furthermore encompassing the implementation of planning through the accompaniment of development processes in the NEPS and finally extending to the adoption of high-quality survey instruments for individual surveys.
The executive unit "NEPS Development" is divided into two areas of responsibility:
- conception and support of steering processes for the medium-term strategic and content-related orientation and further development of the NEPS survey programme, designs and methods
- conception and support of steering processes including quality management for the implementation of planning within the framework of the development of NEPS items and instruments
