Networks and Partners

LIfBi's research integrates theoretical and methodological approaches from different scientific disciplines. Therefore, the institute maintains various interdisciplinary cooperations. This includes the integration into the Leibniz Association as well as a close connection with the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg. In addition to contacts with other research associations and institutions, LIfBi also maintains close relationships with personalities in educational research and awards them the honorary title LIfBi Research Affiliates.

Cooperations

LIfBi works with numerous cooperation partners, within the Leibniz Association and outside, especially in the context of conducting the largest long-term education study in Germany, the National Educational  Panel Study (NEPS).

Internationalization

International networking, consultation, and cooperation are important features of the work at LIfBi and shape the institute’s self-perception and strategic alignment. Internationalization is thereby perceived as a cross-cutting topic which aims particularly at strengthening international visibility and networking.

To this end a set of various measures has been established, e.g. increasing international advertisements of vacancies, awarding internationally renowned researchers the title of LIfBi Research Affiliate, guest stays of international researchers following a LIfBi Lecture, and extended research stays within the institute’s own Visiting Fellowship Program. The program currently being finalized encompasses a LIfBi Research Stay and a Visiting LIfBi Fellowship.

While varying in duration and scope, both program sections cover central areas of internationalization: strengthening international networks, mutual exchange and consultation on joint international projects and publications, intensifying research and visibility on an international stage, as well as receiving and setting impulses for the further development of the institute’s research, infrastructure, and transfer activities in international comparison.
