Statement: Prof. Cordula Artelt on the current statement "Pandemic Preparedness" of the Pandemic Comission of the DFG

Prof. Dr. Cordula Artelt, Director of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) and Chairholder of Longitudinal Educational Research at the University of Bamberg, represents the field of educational research in the Commission for Pandemic Research of the German Research Foundation (DFG). Today, the commission published a new statement on the importance of research for understanding the long-term consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Especially in the field of education, we need to know the long-term effects of the Corona pandemic in order to be able to build up protective factors for future crises and reduce educational disadvantages. This research is important in order to emerge stronger from the crisis," says Prof. Dr. Cordula Artelt on the occasion of the statement.

The full statement of the Comission on Pandemic Research, "Science in the Coronavirus Pandemic: Findings, Knowledge and Action Gaps, and Conclusions for Preparing for Future Pandemics“ can be found here.
