Fuß, Daniel

NEPS-SC8-ADIAB combines the survey data of participating parents from the target children of NEPS Starting Cohort 8 (Grade 5 – 2022) on the individual level with administrative data of the Federal Employment Agency (BA). The new data package is now available to researchers for scientific analyses.

Data offer NEPS-ADIAB

Analogous to the previous data linkages of the NEPS starting cohorts SC1, SC3, SC4, SC5 and SC6, the NEPS-SC8-ADIAB data offer is a joint project of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). It consists of information from the study participants of NEPS Starting Cohort 8 Education for the World of Tomorrow" contained in the Scientific Use File (download version) as well as information from the IAB's administrative data portfolio, including employee history, benefit recipient history, unemployment benefit II recipient history, jobseeker history, participants-in-measures history, and additional geographical and company characteristics. The combination of both data sources makes it possible to address new research questions, in particular those that require detailed income data over the life course of the parents. Detailed information on the characteristics contained in NEPS-SC8-ADIAB can be found in the FDZ-Datenreport 05/2026 on the website of the Research Data Center of the Federal Employment Agency at the IAB (IAB-FDZ).

Due to data protection regulations, access to NEPS-SC8-ADIAB is only possible during a guest stay at one of the locations of the IAB-FDZ and subsequent remote data processing. Prerequisite is the conclusion of a data use agreement with both the FDZ-LIfBi and the IAB-FDZ.
