Report “Education in Germany 2018” published

The current report “Education in Germany 2018” was published today on June 22, 2018, and presented to the public by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany (KMK) in Berlin

The report, which is published every two years, provides a detailed analysis of the state of the German educational system. To achieve this, structures and performances in different areas are observed through the prism of specific indicators along the educational and life course, ranging from the elementary sector to school and vocational training to higher education institutions and continuing education. Once more, NEPS data provide a valuable basis for inspecting educational trajectories also in this edition.

The education report is part of the “Overall Strategy for Educational Monitoring”. The declared objective of this strategy of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany (KMK) and the Federal government is to process and provide information for political action through continuous and data-based observations and analyses. The Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories is a contributing member of the authoring group for the first time.
