Evaluation of the NEPS by the German Council of Science and Humanities

On December 13 and 14, a working group from the German Council of Science and Humanities consisting of top-class international scientists as well as representatives of the German state and the Länder came to evaluate the National Educational Panel Study at the central coordinating office in Bamberg.

Project Management as well as other staff members were highly motivated to present to the working group the work achieved by NEPS over the last 4 years. In conversation with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research, and the Arts, the Management of the University of Bamberg, the Chairpersons of the NEPS Scientific Board and the INBIL Board of Trustees, and representatives of the DFG (German Research Foundation) and the Standing Conference of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as external cooperation partners and data users, the evaluation group had the opportunity to gain a comprehensive idea of the work performed by NEPS. The evaluation is to be viewed as another important step towards institutionalization.
