Promoting interdisciplinarity in educational research: GEBF Award presented to the Extended Management of NEPS

The Society for Empirical Educational Research (GEBF) once again presented the “GEBF Award for the Promotion of Interdisciplinarity in Educational Research” at the opening of the 13th Annual Congress of the professional association on March 16 in Munich. This year, the award was presented to the Extended Management of NEPS on behalf of the entire National Education Panel Study (NEPS) network. The Extended Management consists of the director and the four department heads of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi).

The award recognizes outstanding contributions that strengthen interdisciplinary approaches in educational research. It is usually presented every three years during the GEBF Congress.

The nomination statement reads: "NEPS builds a unique bridge between scientific disciplines and provides data that is indispensable for educational research. The nomination recognizes outstanding achievement in science and society. […] With its open data infrastructure and consistently interdisciplinary approach, NEPS has been setting standards for years. The nomination for the GEBF Award is a well-deserved recognition of the great scientific and organizational achievements of the entire network."

The extended NEPS management team—Prof. Dr. Cordula Artelt, Prof. Dr. Christian Aßmann, Prof. Dr. Corinna Kleinert, Dr. Jutta von Maurice, and Prof. Dr. Ilka Wolter—accepted the award with great pleasure. They are the third recipients of this prestigious award.
