The National Educational Panel Study opens up for the first time to external survey content

The National Educational Panel Study invites all interested researchers to submit proposals for new survey modules in all NEPS starting cohorts. With the first "Call for Modules", the NEPS now opens its survey program to external content. The deadline for sending in a short outline is 30 September 2020.

The National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) collects data on competence development and educational trajectories over the entire life course for more than ten years. For this purpose, the NEPS currently follows about 40,000 people from infants to adults throughout Germany every year.

With the first "Call for Modules" (NEPS-CfM 2020) published today, the NEPS survey program is now open for external content. The scientific community is welcome to propose new question modules in all NEPS starting cohorts. Short outlines, which in particular identify innovative, theoretically and/or methodologically sound research needs and describe ideas for operationalization with up to five items, can be submitted until September 30, 2020.

The selection is organized in a two-stage procedure. First of all, the methodological feasibility of the proposals is examined at LIfBi and then the detailed project outlines are evaluated by the members of the Annual General Meeting of NEPS.
