The current update (doi:10.5157/NEPS:SC3:13.1.0) adds the edited competency data of special needs students to the Scientific Use File. Accordingly, the data set „xTargetSpecialNeedsCompetencies“ has been newly included with information from the tests in the first three survey waves. Further changes concern the extension of all derived educational variables by the ISCED-2011 classification, the addition of a note in the meta-information of the “extended characteristics” for variables with different question formulations, and a split of the previous variables for German and mathematics grades into half-yearly and final grades.

In addition to all other materials, the updated Data Manual as the key resource for understanding and working with the data of Starting Cohort 3 (2010) is also available there.
