The Board of Directors of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories
(LIfBi) endorses the following declaration of the Leibniz Association:
"Over the past few days, people across Germany have made it clear that democracy, human dignity and the rule of law are immovable values of our society. Civil society shows that our democracy is alive and resilient. The Leibniz Association stands with the demonstrators and strongly supports the protest.
In the Leibniz Association, we work together on socially, economically and ecologically relevant issues in order to find answers to the pressing problems of our time. More than 20,000 employees from around 130 countries and with diverse migration histories work on a wide range of scientific topics at the 96 Leibniz Institutes. This can only succeed with an open-minded attitude and a welcoming culture for all. Just like German society as a whole, we as a research community gain our strength through plurality and diversity.
We do not accept any attack on the core of our constitution and the basis of our coexistence. With this declaration and in our daily interactions, we resolutely oppose discrimination, exclusion and xenophobia in our country."
