NEPS Add-on

In order to further enhance the potential of the NEPS data and to open it up to external content, two options are possible. On the one hand, there are explicit Call for Modules (CfM) at regular intervals to integrate additional content into the NEPS survey programme. On the other hand, there are calls with which external parties can also address qualitative or quantitative add-on studies to the participants of the starting cohorts in the wide-meshed monitoring (NEPS next) or introduce content into the NEPS next outcome surveys.

Members of the scientific community now have the opportunity to either contribute questions totalling up to two minutes to the outcome surveys (NEPS Add-on Model 1) or to invite NEPS participants to take part in their own quantitative or qualitative survey via the LIfBi (NEPS Add-on Model 2).

Mandatory information event

LIfBi offers a mandatory information event for researchers who wish to submit proposals as part of the add-on. One of the dates listed below must be attended. Registration is not required!

Previous Call for Modules

NEPS-Call for Modules 2024

As part of the thematic "NEPS Call for Modules 2024", proposals of motives for use and knowledge about AI systems in educational contexts could be submitted. Also: questions on trust in AI systems. The proposals submitted are currently being reviewed and processed. Following a rating by the members of the (Extended) NEPS Management Board, the selected proposals will be announced at the end of January 2026.

NEPS-Call for Modules 2022

The ‘NEPS Call for Modules 2022’ was looking for thematic suggestions on target dimensions of education (e.g. skills, abilities or even attitudes) that would expand the existing NEPS survey programme in the so-called Outcome CATIs (= Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews). Unfortunately, no suggestions could be included.

NEPS Call for Modules 2020

Following the first "Call for Modules" in the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS), the NEPS survey programme was expanded to include the survey modules "Self-efficacy for motivational regulation", "The innovative teacher - proactive behaviour in occupations" and "Conspiracy mentality and political deprivation".
