IT

The IT working unit operates central IT services for LIfBi and ensures their operational readiness. IT sees itself as an internal service provider that provides workstation systems and peripheral devices for all employees of the institute. The IT working unit continuously supports LIfBi staff in the use of these systems and also acts as a central point of contact for optimising IT-supported processes.

In order to meet the diverse requirements of the institute, the IT working unit offers a variety of server-based services. A particular focus is on the secure storage, processing and provision of the research data of all studies carried out at LIfBi, especially the very extensive survey and test data of the National Education Panel (NEPS), in accordance with data protection regulations.

Furthermore, the IT working unit at LIfBi looks after various devices in the area of media technology (presentation and video conference systems, smartboards, digital signage) as well as an extensive software landscape.

In many areas, the LIfBi IT working unit cooperates with the computer centre of the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg. This cooperation, which has proven itself over many years, extends in particular to telephony, network and e-mail connections.
