Personality

The working unit "Personality" encompasses projects that, on the one hand, focus on motivational and personality-related aspects (NEPS-Personality) and, on the other hand, bring together LIfBi’s work on national education reporting (National Education Report).

At the core of the working unit's personality-related research is the development and implementation of instruments for measuring psychological constructs that provide insight into personality and social-psychological aspects of educational trajectories. A particular focus is also placed on the development of short psychological scales on topics of high societal relevance. Examples include instruments for measuring tolerance of ambiguity and trust in science, which can be used in various educational contexts.

As part of the work on national education reporting, aspects of the characteristics of individual life courses studied in the research area are addressed and integrated into the overall framework of a longitudinal analysis of educational trajectories.
