Welcome and arrival of guests in the AULA of the University of Bamberg.

 

Welcome addresses, panel 1 and keynote

Welcome addresses were sent by Federal Education Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger (via video), Dr. Rolf-Dieter Jungk (Head of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts), Prof. Dr. Martina Brockmeier (President of the Leibniz Association), Prof. Dr. Thomas Saalfeld (Vice President of the University of Bamberg) and Jonas Glüsenkamp (Deputy Mayor of the City of Bamberg).

In the first panel, Prof. Dr Hans-Peter Blossfeld (first Principal Investigator of the National Education Panel Study), Prof. Dr Hans-Günther Roßbach (founding director of LIfBi) and Prof. Dr Godehard Ruppert (former president of the University of Bamberg) highlighted the beginnings of the LIfBi.

Prof. Dr Cordula Artelt, Director of the LIfBi, gave the keynote speech.

 

Panel 2, thanks and conclusion

The current role of LIfBi in the German and international landscape of educational research was the topic of the second panel with Prof. Dr. Martina Brockmeier, President of the Leibniz Association, Prof. Dr. Marlis Buchmann and Prof. Dr. Martin Brunner, Chairpersons of the Board of Trustees and the Scientific Advisory Board of LIfBi and Prof. Dr. Monika Jungbauer-Gans, the Chairperson of the German Data Forum (RatSWD).

LIfBi Director Prof. Dr. Cordula Artelt thanked the organising team of the anniversary event and finally, all the podium guests gathered again for a group picture.

The Arcis Saxophone Quartet provided the musical backdrop for the anniversary event. The moderator for the evening was science journalist Dr. Jan-Martin Wiarda.
