Christian Lohmann, doctoral candidate research assistant in the Early Education Department at LIfBi, was awarded the “Hans M. Schadee” best poster award at the spring meeting of the “Research Committee 28 on Social Stratification and Mobility” (RC28) of the International Sociological Association (ISA) in Milan in March 2025.
Out of around 40 contributions, the poster by Christian Lohmann and Prof. Dr. Jan Skopek (Trinity College Dublin) on the topic “How do occupational experiences shape parenting? Revisiting Kohn's theory of self direction” was selected for the award.
The jury particularly appreciated the clear formulation of the research questions, the solid theoretical grounding combined with an original contribution to the field, the use of high-quality data, and the sound methodological approach. The poster also stood out for its clarity, visual design, and the effectiveness of the presentation during the session.
