The unit supports the director in the performance of her duties, especially in committee work and reporting. This includes, on the one hand, the preparation and follow-up of meetings of LIfBi's supervisory bodies, including the internationally staffed Scientific Advisory Board, as well as the various committees and meetings of the nationwide NEPS network. Networking with other cooperation partners and scientific organizations, in particular the Leibniz Association, also fall within the scope of responsibility of the Unit (Contact: referat@lifbi.de).

Another focus is reporting (Contact: berichtswesen@lifbi.de) on the work of the entire institute - e.g., for federal and state funding agencies. For this purpose, the unit operates and develops an information and reporting system for the regular recording of research activities and infrastructure services, which are reflected in an indicator system of selected key figures and are analyzed and processed accordingly for committee reports. The unit is responsible for the systematic recording and indexing of scientific publications and for the institute's Open Access activities in particular.
