Working in the center of the world heritage city

The LIfBi in the historic Royal Bavarian Post Office, called "Wilhelmspost", combines modern offices with a listed flair. The city center is only a few hundred meters away on foot.

Convenient working environment at the LIfBi

In addition to several tea kitchens, the LIfBi has two comfortably equipped social rooms. Here our employees can exchange ideas, play foosball, read or meet to cook and eat together. Catering in the house is made possible by the canteen and coffee station of the Kolping-Bildungszentrum located in the Wilhelmspost and a beverage service.

Some (paid) car parking spaces are located directly at the building. All-day free parking is available at the Heinrichsdamm Park&Ride lot, which is within walking distance. Bicycles can be parked safely and weather-protected in the in-house bicycle cellar, an "air filling station" is available.

Culture and Culinary

In addition to many theaters, museums and historical monuments, Bamberg also invites you to visit festivals and events throughout the year. Particularly well known is our "Sandkerwa", Bamberg's largest folk festival in the former fishermen's settlement Klein-Venedig (Little Venice). But also the literature festival, the Bamberg Short Film Festival, the cabaret festival "Bamberg zaubert", the blues and jazz festival and the traditional bock beer tastings of the local breweries offer a wide range of opportunities to celebrate.

Cultural variety is provided by a variety of larger and smaller stages, clubs and, of course, the world-famous Bamberg Symphony Orchestra.

Always to be found is the rustic Franconian cuisine - from Schäuferla to Schnitzel at unbeatable prices - supplemented by a variety of gastronomic venues that offer vegetarian, vegan or international cuisine.

Sport and Leisure

Located in the valley of the Regnitz River, Bamberg has a wide range of public green spaces. The ERBA Park with a large playground and the city forest Hain invite you to go for a walk, bike or jog, the rose garden of the New Residence and the paths along the banks of the Regnitz invite you to stroll. The surrounding area can also be explored by bicycle on the well-developed network of cycle paths.

With Franconian Switzerland in Bamberg's direct neighborhood, one of Germany's most popular climbing and hiking areas is virtually on the doorstep. Fans of steep wall climbing and bouldering will find countless opportunities to pursue their sport here - the latter, by the way, also indoors in the region's numerous bouldering halls.

Adventure and outdoor pools, the treetop path in the Steigerwald, indoor playgrounds, water sports such as canoeing, rowing or stand-up paddling as well as a bouldering hall offer activities for the whole family. Sports enthusiasts can also join in with the local basketball club Brose Bamberg and the World Cultural Heritage Run. Other sports clubs offer aikido, swimming, soccer, bowling, rugby, volleyball or gliding, among other activities.

By the way: there are shower facilities available in the LIfBi buildings to enable employees to engage in sporting leisure activities before, between and after working hours. For example, the nearby banks of the Main-Danube Canal are ideal for jogging or cycling.

Education Site Bamberg

Bamberg offers a wide range of education and research. In addition to our Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories, the Otto Friedrich University and the State Institute for Family Research, there are numerous technical (high) schools, secondary and vocational schools as well as adult education institutions with a variety of focuses for personal and professional development.

Early education and childcare is provided in the city and district of Bamberg in numerous crèches, kindergartens, large care centers and after-school care centers. Educational opportunities for the whole family are also offered by social institutions, district centers and clubs.
