Key task of the executive unit "NEPS Development" is to support the Director in her function as overall head of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS). Thereby, the focus is on the conceptual development of the NEPS and cooperation with the NEPS network.
The executive unit continuously serves as an instance for systematic process and quality management. This ranges from the bundling and systematisation of innovative ideas for the NEPS and its network including the sustained implementation of the developmental processes on the item level to the content-related approval of survey instruments.
The executive unit "NEPS Development" is divided into two areas of responsibility:
- Conception and support of controlling processes for the medium-term strategic and content-related orientation and further development of the NEPS survey programme, designs and methods
- Conception and support of controlling processes including quality management for the implementation of planning processes within the framework of the development of NEPS items and instruments (incl. Instrument and Data Quality, IDQ)
